Ahhhh — I’m having one of the happiest days ever! Yesterday Zack + I packed a couple blankets, a picnic lunch {pb+j sandwiches, sugarsnap peas, strawberries, BBQ chips + lots of water}, books, sunscreen + our pup, we hopped in the Jeep and headed down to the beach. We are so fortunate to live BLOCKS from two great beaches :) We stopped at Starbucks first and then settled down with our iced coffees + books for an afternoon in the sun. Friends, my happiness tank is FULL! Some of my favorite memories from dating Zack are our summers together. Living in Michigan we were never far from a beach or a cottage or a boat, and so the summer months are extra special to us. We spent lots of outside time, eating ice-cream, getting suntans, at family cookouts, snuggling at late-night campfires, lots of hand-holding… And now that we’re married we can experience these summer months together, all the time, yeow! Being married is the best ever! I’m so thankful to have a husband I can dream, laugh, pray + grow old with! Zacky, you are the best!!
And guess what? In nine days we’ll be celebrating FOUR years of marriage! ;D I can’t believe we’ve been in Minneapolis for almost three of those years, that is just crazy. I can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary.
So today, I’m having one of the happiest days ever. Memories of yesterday keep floating through my mind. My skin is sun-kissed, Bauer is exhausted, the trees are rustling in the wind — OH, and my mom is on her way out here for the week! Last we saw each other was at Christmas, so we’re both super excited for a week of Mama Gus time. Hooray!

Sounds like a dreamy, happy day! I’m orginally from Willmar, Mn, but we live in Texas (boo for too-hot summers!) and love to come up and enjoy the summer in Minnesota (especially going to the lake!). We are actually spending a few weeks up there this June, so I’m looking forward to lake days, iced coffee, and dog walks in weather that isn’t 100 degrees!
ps. Happy pre-anniversary–we’ve almost been married for four years too and I’m pretty sure marriage is my favorite :)

I live in North Dakota and soaked in some of that Minneapolis sunshine on Sunday. It was beautiful. Then I drove home only to have rain and cold! I love your line about your happiness tank is full. That is beautiful way to phrase it. Congrats on your anniversary. Going to check out the wallets now!
