{cute shop :: Darn Knit Anyway}

Helloooooo, darling shop. I’ve totally fallen in love with you.

My friend Melissa mentioned we visit, and let me just tell you: it’s the cutest local shop ever {located in Stillwater, MN} and has such a fun downtown area along the river!

Darn Knit Anyway has yarn, fabric, notions & handmade items, and I’m pretty sure I took photos of EVERY.SINGLE.ITEM. because it’s just that cute of a shop! I’ve been to many fabric stores but this one seemed to have so many of my favorite favorites :]

Look at all that I saw:

Handmade buttons {love the bright colors!}:

I want to learn how to felt!

Yummy blues/aquas:

Owl fabric — I need some of this:

Gussy & Melissa:

Remember this book I talked about here? I bought this at Darn Knit and it’s fabulous {you can buy it here for $10!}:

Also {don’t laugh}, Melissa took some headshot photos for me. I had a major deadline for The Creative Connection to get one turned in but had nothing to send! Melissa was so cute — the best photo-pose demonstrator I’ve ever seen :]

Do you have a favorite, local shop? What is your favorite item there?

  1. My favorite shop in the TC area is Crafty Planet in Mpls over past the Quarry (they also have an online shop). I just found out that there is a fabric store about 2 minutes away from me in downtown Shakopee called The Eagle Creek Quilt Shop. They have a pretty good selection of fabrics (including that ADORABLE owl print).

I also really like Joann’s for cheap fabric, SR Harris, and Mill End Textiles.

And, there is a long list of places people have told me about that I still need to visit:
    – Treadle Yard Goods
    – General Textiles
    – Glad Greations
    – Digs

  2. I wish there were a cute little shop like that around here! The only local fabric shop I’ve been to wasn’t very…cute. :) I usually get my fabric at Joann’s, but I’d love to place an order at Hawthorne Threads soon!

  3. That shop looks cute! I would love to learn to felt too, you can make so many cute creations with it! Once again Maggie, you are just too stinkin’ cute in your photos…love it!!

    xoxo~Meg
