I’ve shared here & there how I’m sewing more, but all of this is possible only because I have a dedicated “work day” each week. This has been a fairly easy transition for me as a mama, mostly because I have so much peace knowing the kids are going to daycare together as a pair,… [Read More]
An update on my running journey (with FAQs).
(This is part II of my running journey, click here to read part I.) I’m 5 months into my running journey, and some days I can hardly believe this. It’s been inspiring, refreshing, and super hard at times, that’s for sure. What prompted me to begin happened on a whim… Back in February I was… [Read More]
Summer camping with an infant & a toddler.
Friday morning, after Natalie’s nap, we packed up the crew and headed a little north of Santa Barbara to camp for the weekend. This is the second year now we’ve joined our friends Lukasz and Joanna, and their littles Olivia and Tytus, for a weekend of camping. In fact, last year we went with them… [Read More]
Natalie & her extremely adorable crib sheets.
Each morning, Natalie wakes up happy, as though it’s a fragment of who she is on the inside, it’s that simple. There’s nothing in particular we do to help her develop her happiness, she just is. And her brother was (is) the same way. Happy newborns, happy infants, happy toddlers… our family is so blessed…. [Read More]
Life around here.
It has been a great week! Monday greeted me with a fresh carafe of coffee brewed just for me (I think running is making my body reject non-decaf coffee; has this happened to you?), along with a custom message on my coffee cup thanks to Zack. We had a little hiccup a few days ago with Natalie not wanting to nurse, but I think I figured out the problem so we’re back on track!
Los Angeles meet-up: August 8th
Hello, Los Angeles creatives, inspiration-seekers, and/or mamas! I hope you’ll join me for another LA meet-up the morning of Saturday, August 8th. (I’ve found a super delicious coffee shop/cafe/restaurant to meet at!) The conversation we had last month spurred on so many great conversations about books, home projects, and small business, and I can’t wait… [Read More]
Caroline-made: The Hip Pouch!
The products I make are usually a solution to a “problem” I have: a bigger tote bag with multiple pockets or a zipped pouch to catch all of my favorites. But my most-recent need has been a hip pouch to hold my iPhone, earbuds, and house key while I run. I use two apps to… [Read More]
Exactly how it feels when I run.
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and healthy mama®, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #gethealthymama http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV I woke up, and even before my feet hit the floor to pick up Natalie from her crib, even before I knew the day was starting out… [Read More]
A great purpose.
Today I’m doing something I’ve never done before: I’m speaking to a summer enrichment class at UCLA in the morning. I’m not nervous, I know what I want to share with this group of pre-college students. I’ve been reflecting on my presentation all week, when I’m at the park with the kids or making their… [Read More]
A podcast on Simplicity.
Last month I recorded a podcast on simplicity with Jenn Sprinkle from The {well} Studio. Our conversation was based off a book I contributed to called Thirty One Days of Prayer for the Dreamer and the Doer. In the podcast I shared more about our decision to move to Los Angeles, which was spurred on… [Read More]
