baby Josiah, taken July 2023 ^ ^
Feeling blessed because of Christ. Even through the hard times, there is so much to be thankful for because I am not alone. Christ is with me. This has been the wildest two years of our marriage/family. I paused my graduate studies in January 2023, we lived out of town for nearly four months while I healed from a major prenatal surgery (April – July 2023), because in June of last year, we joyfully welcomed our fifth child, Josiah. His spina bifida diagnosis has been so hard, yet it’s been such a testimony to the faithfulness of God. Even through the hard times there is so much to be thankful for. While I could never have imagined my life being what it is today, I am so grateful for how it’s deepened my faith and given me such a beautiful (new) outlook on the sacrifices of motherhood. He is a precious boy, and I love my tribe of five children dearly. He will always have S.B., there is always something new to love and cherish. As a family, we have grown closer together and shared oodles of encouragement and prayers. I’m thankful for so much time with my children as we homeschool and learn together. I’m thankful for my husband who shows me his love through his actions… feeling truly blessed by Christ.
the seven of us, taken at Josiah’s first birthday party last summer ^ ^
Smelling gingerbread, yum! It’s spicy and warm. A friend shared a cookie recipe with me and I’m eager to get the dough mixed :)
Wondering how YOU are doing??? <3
Enjoying the beauty of Christ’s birth as we prepare for Christmas morning. It’s not about the gifts or the decorated tree – or the date on the calendar. It’s about receiving the most wonderful gift: forgiveness and eternal life to all who ask, and learning to hold on to hope. Mary gives us much to contemplate in Luke 2:19 and 51.
Cooking homemade meatballs and spaghetti this week. I paired it with roasted broccoli & carrots, and freshly baked sourdough bread. So delish.
Making so much sourdough. And I love it so much :) I recently decided to sell homemade loaves this winter season. Most mornings, I enter a dark kitchen and get to work on 4-6 loaves. Sourdough was the one thing I wanted to learn this year and I’m so happy I did. (For those curious, I learned from Farmhouse on Boone. And a little trial and error. ;)
Praying for many friends, and holding on to so much hope for restorative healing.
xx, Maggie
