{How we spent our Sunday.}

Sunday was one of those amazing lazy fun days where you wake up and the fun starts immediately. Our cousin Gunnar has been with us since Friday of the week before. He’s doing a 10-day job shadow with Zack and it’s been so fun having his teenage self around. Gunnar’s studying at the same University Zack and I went to, AND studying the exact same program Zack studied, and to top it off Gunnar is 100% funny. I love it :] So yesterday morning we woke up late, headed outside to the back patio, and drank our coffee with a side of chocolate chip cookie — wink!

I know Bauer loved all the backyard time, too, as we talked & laughed & drank our coffee because he managed to drag out alllll the brush we’ve got set aside to the center of the backyard. So he could chew on it. Filling up the yard with branches and leaves {and also logs we use for fires} is Bauer’s favorite activity. I believe that branches to Bauer are what cardboard boxes are to little kiddies.

After our long morning coffee + cookie session, I packed 3 picnic lunches and we headed to the beach. We had turkey & ham sandwiches, carrots & dip, string cheese AND MORE COOKIES to fill our tummies ~ Pandora music playing on my iPhone, talking & laughter and even a little bit of book reading. The blue sky was perfectly bright with drops of fluffy clouds to break things up a bit.

We closed out the day with brats on the grill + a backyard fire complete with s’mores ~ Y U M!

  1. sunday was fun for us too! we spent the day at our friends pool. my son stayed in the water the entire day! then we had bbq burgers for dinner and finished with s’mores while my son was sleeping inside dreaming of splashing in the water. ps: i think s’mores need to be an every weekend ritual! what do you think?

  2. Got back to Chicago from BlogHer at 5am! While at the conference, I spotted someone sporting a Gussy Bag. I can tell from a mile away ;)

  3. How fun! My Sunday wasn’t as eventful but still so nice! Worked at my campus bookstore for a few hours, chatted with some new friends then relaxed around my freshly clean apartment and read a good book. All in all a simply pleasant day. I would love to steal a little sun and a few cookies from your day though!

  4. this Sunday we MOVED! Yep! we spent the whole day loading and unloading. I’m tired just remembering, but now I’m lounging in my new digs watching Ratatouille {seriously, one of my fave movies} and catching up on the blogs I follow! Yay!

    Your day looked super amazing and I so wish I could be at the beach…
