MEGAN FROM ROCKEY PAPER SHARES: The items in my online boutique are ones that I found and love.  Some of them I found at the National Stationery Show (which is amazing and quite possibly heaven on earth for a paper lover like me) and some of them are suggestions from friends that love the product.  Not only that, I pride myself on taking care of each and every customer and making sure they are as excited about the product when it arrives as I was when I originally discovered it!

My advice to anyone thinking about opening a shop is to just do it!  I completely agree that you need a business plan and goals for the business but some of it you just have to learn as you go.  Make sure you take time away and shut off work.  I really don’t feel like I am working because I enjoy what I do so sometimes it is hard to shut down the computer (especially when working from home) and take the time to recharge.

Rockey Paper sent me this custom iPhone case {made by Case-Mate} and I really really love it. It is a hard case, but not slippery, and the sides have a slight indent so it’s super easy to hold it without dropping it. Because it’s a hard case it won’t stretch out on me after a couple of months. PLUS it has my logo on it, yeow!

  3. Maggie I love your iPhone case! And I might have to get one of the clipboards for myself. I’ve decided to go back to school to get my master’s in Higher Ed and one of those with “Kasey” on it would look fantastic on my desk :D

    PS How is the move impacting mentorship sessions? I imagine you need some time off to pack, move, unpack. Are you going to post letting us aspiring indie business owners know when we can chat with you again?

  11. I follow Gussy Sews on Instagram, FB and her blog… I now am definately going to follow Rockey Paper and Design! I am already obsessed! The Iphone case is MY FAVORITE! My case just cracked… So i hope i get picked for this drawing! I wish I could buy them all! I started looking thru the website… and I saw the monogram cutting boards! What a creative clever idea!!!! I am going to be buying one for all my sisters!

  25. I LOVE all of it….but I really LOVE the lunchbox! How awesome to have a personalized lunchbox for my kiddos and then get to write them a love note everyday for them to see at lunch time at school!!! It would be a big hit at my house! :)

  136. I love the lunch box! I am all about using items that you do not throw away. I finally started recycling and found out that we don’t go to the trash as much. :) I also think the place mat is adorable! I might need to remember this for our little niece around Christmas time!
