“I bought my first Gussy product several months ago–a damask tote bag with a lavender ruffle. I use it as my school/work bag (I’m a teacher) as well as a weekend trip bag. I love how beautiful and versatile it is! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it at work and out and about. It also works well as a diaper bag–big enough for diapers, wipes, change of clothes, baby food, toys, etc. My most recent Gussy purchase was the Peonies in Pink zipped pouch. I was looking for a way to organize my purse and loved the print. I was so excited to see my new Gussy purchase that I opened it up at the mailbox with my 14-month-old son, Keaton, waiting patiently in his red wagon. I use this zippered pouch to organize all the junk in my purse — it holds my lip balm, lotion, hair clips, and other odds and ends. I’m looking forward to my next Gussy purchase — with so many great products and prints, it will be hard to decide! I’ve been eyeing the tangerine dot diaper wipe/wristlet! I love getting new fabric in the mail, and this week I received TWO packages! I got this beautiful Posh Paisley in Yellow to make some bridal gifts for someone special! As much as I love new fabric, I hate when I have to first cut it!! haha
My favorite thing is getting that special card in the mail from someone you have been think of. I love getting actual letters/cards in the mail it gives it that extra touch. Lets you know that someone was thinking of you!
I just received a few memory books in the mail that I created of my kids. I’ve been a bit behind and finally got caught up. Love looking at their cute little faces from a year ago! They grow up so fast!!! Theses books are so precious to me – I will treasure them forever!!
I recently ordered the tangerine dot wristlet and got it in the mail last week! I waited until I got inside to open it but loved getting a package out of the mailbox! I love it and love the colors! The orange is so much deeper and orange-er than on my computer screen! I love it so much I’m almost “afraid” to use it and get it dirty =) Thanks for the great products and awesome prints!
I’ve gotten a whole lot of letters lately (um, and I sent you one too) which is pretty nice because I work at summer camp. Its always so fun to communicate via snail mail and get that little pitter patter when you see mail that’s not a bill!
I love finding special unexpected packages in the mail. The best is either a gift or card from someone when you don’t expect it or a check you didn’t know was coming. Recently I had two checks come in the mail that I was expecting! So nice to get money back!! Anything that isn’t a bill is welcome in my mailbox@
I just got a new case for my cell phone in the mail.. I look at it all day long so I like to switch up the color and look of it.:)
My husband and I are in the process of adopting a little girl from Taiwan so anytime we get paperwork or ANYTHING related to the adoption in the mail it really makes our week! The first time I saw my daughter’s face in an “E” mail definitely is my favorite surprise mail of all time!
I just received a package from Orange Thyme in the mail today…she included an extra lip balm and room spray sample! I LOVE surprises!
i live in hawaii, my mom lives in utah. we send little packages to each other all the time! [ a few weeks ago she sent me the cutest decorated paper clips! ] we even have a combined blog called ‘mailbox moments’ where we blog letters to each other! i love getting packages from her! it is the best!

I received a cookbook that my cousin had created of our grandma’s recipes. My grandma passed away a few years ago so it was nice to see the recipes written in her handwriting; my cousin had scanned the actual recipe cards into the cookbook. She promises a second edition soon so I have a new package to look forward to.
I just got one today! I got some earrings from an Etsy seller, and they are even better then I imagined!
I recently designed a little custom stamp to make tags for all of my handmade items. When I got the stamp in the email from the etsy seller it was the highlight of my day, I couldn’t wait to start assembling the tags for the items I’ve made. :)

Let’s see… I just got a new basketball in the mail. I’m super happy about it because the first one I got in the mail had to be returned since it lost air. This one has been working out great. And it’s from Fair Trade Sports! Love it.

I just received a starter for my propane grill in the mail! I know that seems lame, but it was actually very cool and thoughtful of the company. We purchased a grill that was already put together, and since it was a model, the company proactively sent us an extra starter in case the current one went out (I can ONLY imagine how many times its already been pushed, as that seemed to be the first thing my boyfriend did when grill shopping- push the starter and see how well it ‘clicks’)!!!
This is going to sound really sad, but my last happy package was a part of fix my stove. Without my stove, I’m little-girl-lost.
My most recent happy mail were my business cards and mini cards from Moo! They make me feel so official. :D
Having a baby just a few months ago has made checking the mail quite exciting!! We didn’t find out what we were having…so now the boy/monogrammed things that show up are so exciting!
Yesteday I got a card in the mail from my very bestest friend. It made me laugh and my husband roll his eyes. She gets me and I love getting mail from her because I know it will make me smile. Every.single.time!

I won a $150 gift certificate to Spreegirl from Lucky magazine and my order arrived yesterday. They hadn’t sent out an email saying my order had shipped so it was a nice surprise.
I recently ordered a photobook made up of pictures of my son that I hadn’t scrapbooked. I went from birth to 3 yrs. I started crying when I got it and was looking back at how much he has grown.

My fiancé and I recently got the SWEETEST card in the mail from his step-sister, congratulating us on our engagement. She wrote a long note inside, which made it even more personal and special. Being an only-child myself, I’m so excited to be gaining a sister through marriage!
We just got a balance bike for the kids in the mail today. I can’t wait util they are in bed so I can secretly try it out myself!
I recently wrote on my blog how I had received a package from the UK and I was amazed at how big their stamps are. A nice lady commented and told me that it was a special stamp and I told her I would love to see their regular stamps so she sent me a nice little card so I could have their “regular” stamps. That was just SO sweet and I am always amazed at how genuine and kind the blogging community is!
Biggest surprise I got in the mail was this past December. I had just moved to Orlando and couldn’t take off work to fly home for X-mas, so I thought it was just going to go by like any other day & sure didn’t think I’d be getting any presents. Well, I got home from work one evening and there was a big box on my doorstep, inside was a stocking filled with goodies along with a few wrapped presents from my family…one being a Nook! It was awesome! :)
We finally got our tax refund this week! We finalized the adoption for our daughter last year so we were able to apply for the adoption tax credit but the feds took forever to process! We filed the beginning of Feb! Now that we’ve got our refund, we were able to pay off our adoption loans & plan our trip to Disney in Sept!
I love love the letterpress cards I just received that say “knit with love by Kate ” and “sewn with love by Kate” and leave space for care instructions. I love adding little touches like that when giving handmade gifts…
A few days ago I got a package in the mail from my mom full of little boy clothes for my son. It was like christmas, the outfits kept coming!!! It was so much fun!
Just today, I received a beautiful peasant skirt that I bought my daughter, off of ebay, for a great price! it’s just beautiful! Love getting things like that in the mail! :o)
Recently we moved and somehow a package from a friend got shipped to our old address and never forwarded to me. I was so bummed. Then two days ago the package showed up on my doorstep! One of the mailmen at the post office knows my husband and knew our new address and made sure it got forwarded! It was awesome to get that goody box!
How fun! I know when I get my Gussy tote and wristlet in the mail, that will be an awesome mailbox day! :) Yesterday though, a friend sent me a whole box full of little boy clothes for my baby I’m expecting and that was a fun mailbox day too!

Oh how sweet! I don’t often get care packages in the mail, so when my sweet friend Jane surprised us with some of her hand towels and produce sacks, I was beyond touched. In fact, I just used the towel to wash my hands before coming over here to the computer. Love. As for a Gussy package, oh I would never, ever protest that. ;)
One of my happiest mailbox memories was actually just last week just before we left for vacation when I received the awesome news that my disability denial had been reversed! We had been racing to the mailbox every single day for a month.
Just today I received a $5 gift card I had ordered with rewards points!! Very small amount, but it was not expected for another 6 weeks (“processing” time you know…) and was nice to be able to use it to get my dinner groceries!!
I love getting happy mail! I use to have penpals growing up and I loved getting letters! Now, I love when fabric shows up in my mail!

My four year old daughter loves to receive mail. Recently while at the PO Box she received her first piece of mail with her name only… many screams of delight later… the card lovingly resides on her bedroom wall.
When I was at college my Mom & Dad sent me this precious box filled with my fav things for my birthday! I was sad I couldn’t be with them on my birthday, but it totally made my day!! :]] love surprise packages!! :]] also most recently, I received my bridesmaids dress for a wedding I’m in in October!! :]

I love surprises at the mailbox! We have a mail slot so the surprise is inside, right by the front door. But it’s still exciting! I was super excited to receive my shipment from Swanson yesterday – toothpaste! Maybe that’s silly but we were nearly out. I wait eagerly for the mail to arrive everyday even when I’m not expecting anything. Sometimes I ever keep the mail door open so it falls on the floor.. very dramatic! :)
I love receiving anything that’s not a bill! I swap books online and love receiving those. And recently I ordered a couple really cute bracelets that were so fun to receive in the mail!
Books! Definitely books. I only have time to read for pleasure during the summer, and of course I take advantage!

I recently met a girl, over a tranquility bracelet transaction, and she and I just seemed to really hit it off. She went to Ireland for two weeks, and actually sent me a surprise package with items from Ireland, including pictures. It was so sweet, and completely unexpected <3

It wasn’t a special package for me but it was a special package for my husband, it was suppose to be his Father’s Day present but unfortunately it didn’t fit (Australian sizes are way different than USA sizes!!) so we had to exchange it and finally the right size came yesterday. It was so much fun to see his smiling face when he tried on his favorite Australian footy team shirt and it fit!! Go Blues!! :o)

My two-year-old, Emmaline, is fascinated with getting ‘prezzys’ (presents) and insists on walking down to the mailbox with me to be the first one to know if a package came for her/me/my husband/her little brother/the fish/whoever. A few weeks ago, Emmaline had a video-chat date with her PePaw and insisted that he sent her a present. So he did. She walked down to the mailbox to find a small package covered in stickers addressed to her! “PEPAW PREZZY MOM! PEPAW PREZZY FOR MEM-MA-WINE!!” She was so excited and I was excited for her!

My happiest mailbox story of late is the day I got my Silhouette SD! Can’t wait to make ALL the things I’ve been dreaming about making! (P.S. I’ll be pretty excited to get a Gussy prize in the mail too! Fingers crossed!)
I just got in the mail today another canvas from Canvas People! (yay for their free coupons). I already had a canvas made of my daughter and one of my husband and I so now I did the most logical and got one of my dog :) Know you will appreciate that!

I’ve been on a month long vacation visiting family state-side, so I haven’t been home to receive any of my mail or packages. My husband opened my packages, piled the contents together for a picture, and sent it to me on facebook. Not the same as checking the mail, but it was special that he would do that for me :)
This might be silly, but I recently got a free cereal sample in the mail and it was such a fun surprise! I often sign up for freebies and samples and by the time they come you have forgotten you signed up for them and they are always a treat! ;)
I’ll never forget being in college and my mom sending me surprise gifts through the mail. Well these slowed down a lot when I got married. Then last year out of the blue I started getting packages again! Mom said she started to miss me to much and our skype time is never enough for her!

I love it when I get a package in the mail. Recently I got a package of fabric that I ordered. I know I picked it out and I new it was coming. But there is just something about seeing and touching the real thing that makes it special.
I got a beautiful turquoise flower necklace in the mail the other day from Love Stiched! I put it on before the envelope hit the counter! It even happened to match the dress I was wearing that day :)

My in-love’s went to Hawaii a few weeks back and sent us a gift box with a lovely Hawaiian style dress for our baby girl! I think I get more excited about things for her now than I do myself :)

Last week I got my first online order of fabric! Obviously I ordered it but I have never ordered fabric online before and it was so fun to get in the mail.
The other day my little brother got the mail and held up a big manila envelope addressed to me from our local community college. I was thinking to myself “man I really don’t want to dual enroll. But when I opened it up I was so relieved to find that it was just the class schedule for the fall semester.
My best (long distance) friend and I exchange packages all the time! We average one large, one small, and about a million cards back and forth each month! Each time is like she’s up here with me because she knows me so dang well!!

My aunt sent me a really beautiful quilt she made to lay out for picnicking. I think it’s too gorgeous to lay on the ground! For now I use it to curl up with on the couch, but maybe one day i’ll use it for its intended purpose.

I think my happiest package story would have to be when I did a trade with KristinaMarie (http://www.etsy.com/shop/KristinaMarie) on Etsy and the package she sent me was so beautiful! She had sewn the packaging out of a brown paper bag and then sewn on a paper with my address, etc. It was so pretty and definitely inspirational for my shop packaging. :)

This spring I received two cd’s recorded by my 80yo Aunt of memories of my mom. My mom passed away when I was 8 months old so I have no memories of her. It was such a beautiful gift to hear stories about her! (Disclaimer: I have heard stories about my mom just not this invasive!)

yesterday i got “the key” in my mailbox which meant i had a big package in a larger mailbox waiting for me…. it was a gorgeous 1/2 yard of fabric that was cut from a vintage sheet!! my friend had mailed it to me to make a skirt for my daughter who is QUICKLY outgrowing all of her baby clothes! <3
My son received some baby puff snacks in a surprise package from his auntie. It was so sweet of her to think of him. And of course he loved the snacks! :-)
I recently received an amazing little package from a friend.she makes hand stamped necklaces and she had just made one that said “be still and know”. I grew up in the church and grew up singing in the church but never felt that connection between what I was singing and my audience until I was asked to sing the song, “Be still and know”. It moved me. It moved my audience. It felt right. I was asked to sing it several times because of the connection I made, the connection He made. I had commented on how the necklace touched my heart and several days later, it showed up on my doorstep. I cried and still cry when I think about it. (tears of joy of course) I wear that necklace now not with a prideful heart but with a such sense of warmth and comfort. By far, the best package I have ever received. :)
I am an avid book lover and have recently gotten into poetry (reading it, writing it, appreciating it, and teaching my students to do the same). So I ordered a used books of children’s read aloud poetry online and when I got it in the mail a week or so later—BRAND STINKING NEW!!! Full of beautiful poetry and illustrations to share with my 4th graders this comin school year!
I just got happy mail yesterday!!! So nice to get something besides bills…..it was these ridiculously cute petti rompers I ordered for the girls for pictures in August. Too cute for words!

Actually, just today I got back from vacation and I had to pick up my mail at the post office and to my surprise I had 2 packages of things I ordered before I left for vacation. In one packages was 3 yards of beautiful satin Fabric, in apple green, purple and light pink. Then in the other one was some more clips so i can keep pumping out more hair pretties and some little resin flower goodies. I love getting packages!!!

i just got home from being out of town, & was surprised to find a random “thinking about you” card in my held mail from my husband… we’re in month 4 of a 12 month deployment, so it was a very very welcome happy mailbox story! :)
My friend was cleaning out her craft room/library and she remembered conversation that we had about me loving fondue. Surprise! She sent me a fondue book that she had sitting on her shelf. She hadn’t used it in a while and thought I would! Lucky me!
Well mine happened today- I ordered a photo of my 3 girls and the photographer added several photos as gifts!! I couldn’t be any happier-now I can share them>my heart is full!
I won an canvas from easy canvas about a month ago and finally got around to ordering it last week. I was so excited to get it in my mailbox! It turned out so good. Now I have a professional looking picture of me and my sister to hang on my wall… so excited!
The last great piece of mail I got was a “nix of cr@p” from a friend. Had books, teas, laundry stuff and some sweets. A hodge podge of total fun!
I sadly don’t have many happy mailbox moments, but I did get a book in the mail last week from Paperback Swap. Yay for free books!
I actually sent a surprise package in the mail. I sewed my first quilt and mailed it to my mom to thank her for helping me so much with my wedding. I cant wait until she gets it! I think giving is sometimes better than getting (sometimes) haha
I received a happy 22nd anniversary card and lovely note from parents a few days ago. I save every card I get from them and sometimes take them out and read the handwritten sentiments. How sweet of you to have a giveaway today!

My last happy mail experience was a LegoCLUB magazine. Yup…lego. You read that right. Why was I so happy? Well, after the last month plus of my six year old saying “Anything for me, Mom? Did I get a magazine?” every time I got the mail, it felt great to say “Yes. You sure did.”
I got a dress that my husband picked out for me in the mail 3 days ago. It’s so pretty, and he picked it out!! It makes my heart sing :)
I received a ROAK (Random Act Of Kindness) package full of goodies that a friend of mine knew I loved- a gossip magazine, starbucks gift card, and a book I’ve been wanting to read. I love getting surprises!
The best mail box days are when a new magazine comes or I get a surprise letter. Those are the best days. ;)

one reason i buy things online is because its like you are getting something twice.
first you find it online and absolutely HAVE to have it, you order it and become giddy with excitement. a week or so later you open your mailbox and to your surprise (duh, you’ve already forgotten that you bought it because your life is crazy-busy) it is the beautiful item that you ordered. you scream with excitement!
THAT is why I love online shopping :)

I just had a little Avon order delivered…I had fun putting a little camp care package together for our flower girl of 12 years ago…and I got a license plate frame + magnet in the mail from my college via the dad of a little boy who broke the other one off of my car at the drive-in. The magnet was a bonus. All of theses were fun little pleasures!
The last happy mail we got was my fiance’s new iphone! Happy for him to have a new phone.. happy for me that I don’t have to hear him complain about the old one anymore! Happy Days!!

well, mine was actually a “email box” story. it was last night about this time [i’m still giddy over this] i received a text from my sister in law telling me to check my email. when i did, i was blown away to find a g.c. to gussy sews!! i have been saving up and entering every gussy giveaway i could find. thank you sister savannah; you made my day for sure! can’t wait for my new zip pouch : )

My surprise in the mail was a very sweet and thoughtful thank you card from some new friends with a gift card. We had opened up our house to these new friends to say for a couple nights and they were so nice to send that to us. I love making new friends. :)
I recently used some old Barnes and Noble gift cards I found in the bottom of a purse I no longer use. Just yesterday a huge box of summer reading books arrived! It was like Christmas!

I recently got new shoes that I’ve been looking to get for over 3 years now.
A few months ago a Tassimo coffeemaker came unexpectedly (free) for my husband. I don’t know how we got it, but my husband is Mr. Coffee and to see his face light up was better than anything! First, it was free (always a treat) and 2nd, it was completely unexpected for him (and me), and 3rd it was the perfect item. I received a package just the other day. Inside was a tiny box with a lovely emblem on top. I opened it to find a gorgeous vintage style necklace, but no note! Turns out it was my b-day gift from a bff.
I love getting packages in the mail. I try to order little things off of Etsy (and by little I mean under $10 or so) for myself every week. It is my weekly dose of self love and hopefully puts a smile on a shop owner’s face :)
I haven’t gotten a package in so long. Mail a lot of them – never receive them; until two weeks ago. On of my closest friends (who I haven’t seen in three years) mailed me the most wonderful card with a perfect message in it for the week. Not to mention that there was a Starbucks card in there too (yipeee). I can share the story about the Starbucks getting robbed while I was there in a later comment :)
My sweet sister sent me a surprise “Happy End of the School Year” package filled with a little note and fun summer treats! Great way to kick off the summer! ;)

I just recently got a beautiful pair of earrings in the mail from a blogging friend! =)
My sister has 4 boys, oldest being almost 7 and youngest being almost 2. I have 5 kids, oldest two being 3, youngest one being just a couple months over 1. I was grocery shopping a while back and felt the need to read some cards. I found three that I just loved and knew I would have to send to her! I just mail them to her on a random basis when I feel she might need a good laugh and a pick-me-up. The first card I sent her said on the front “I am here any time you need me, just give me a call!” On the inside it read, ” You may hear kids screaming in the backround and I may be locked in the closet but yes, please call, anytime you need me!” It is perfect for the two of us because with all the little kids in our families, if we call each other during the hours of 6am-10pm there’s always one crying or fussing or even just screaming for fun in the backround of each phone! I love that I share that connection with her. She loved the card so much she shared the story with everyone. It came to her at the perfect time in her life when she needed a laugh and a friend!
The most exciting thing I’ve received in the mail recently is our final blueprints for the house we’re building :) Can’t wait for move-in day!
We r from Iowa…. Recently we surprised our 3 kids(7,4,1) with a trip to a Florida beach….they fell in love w the booby boards they we picked up for 6$ at the store and were sad to have to leave them behind. My husband shipped them back and when they arrived in the mail the kids were shocked and danced around like it was christmas! Now, to find some waves in Iowa to ride!?
I get a little too excited about this, but I just received a big ol’ package of brand spankin’ new cloth diapers for my daughter. They are adorable and fluffy and I get so excited when they come! :)
I recently received a letter from a college friend that said “Words can’t express how much you mean to me, so I will show you through interpretive dance…”
I used to joke all the time in college about interpretive dance, and had quite a few smooth moves myself ;) So it was the perfect card for me!

Less than a week ago was my birthday, most people live by me but I did get a couple surprises in the mail. One friend sent me several little individually wrapped packages with little fun notes on each item. It was so fun to open each package 1st to see what it was 2nd to see what fun note was on each!
My mom sent the very first dress she ever wore down to me so I could have my newborn take pictures wearing it. So all three of us will have a picture wearing the very same dress :)
