{a collaboration with BurdaStyle, yeow!}

Back in June I received an email from the lovely Carol of BurdaStyle, asking if I’d be going to The Creative Connection {TCC} and if so, we should grab dinner. {Oh, hello amazing opportunity!} I replied back and said that I would indeed be going. Just a few months later I was sat down for a meal with not just Carol, but also Gertie {love her!}, Stephanie and 3 gals from Etsy. YEOW!

As a side note, one thing I love about TCC is the opportunities that come from attending. I’ve been both years and it so far each year is surpassed the year before. If you have a handmade business, TCC is an amazing event you should definitely be at!

Later that weekend Carol and I were chatting in the marketplace, and it came up that BurdaStyle was going to be launching a book soon, The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbookand did I want to be one of the featured seamstresses on their site & newsletter by sewing up one of the patterns in the book?

Of course I did! BurdaStyle sent me an advanced copy of their new book, a couple yards of fabric from Spoonflower, and last week I hid in my studio and sewed my ruffly heart away while I worked on this new project. I have to admit, it was amazing to collaborate with BurdaStyle. I LOVED being able to preview their book before anyone else {tee hehe!} and it’s sooo inspiring to work on a new project.

  1. This is actually hpfleul for me to read! It’s good to reflect on what we’ve made. I’m only just now getting to the point with my sewing where I’m making more for my wardrobe, but I already see a couple of things I’ve sewn in the past that may eventually have to leave my closet. You give me courage to make that happen!
