A couple weeks ago Maxwell + I went to our very first VIP party hosted by The Land of Nod, a seriously charming store for kiddos. Their party was in celebration of their brand new South Coast Plaza store and featured all things whimsical, vibrant, dream-filled. The store was everything I dreamed it would be, yet somehow it was even more than that. I even convinced my dear friend Joanna joined us, I think I had her at “Land of Nod” ;)
Remember when I made this inspirational collage of 7 favorites from The Land of Nod? I knew I was heading to the VIP party shortly after I hit “publish” and I was excited to know which of their toys I’d be bringing home for baby Maxwell.
1. down to the wire wall bin // 2. rainboat wood stacking boat // 3. landscape floor bins // 4. good read book caddy [gray] // 5. wildlife of the party puzzle // 6. big picture book [fruits and veggies] // 7. double decker bus in transportation
Can you guess which toys I brought home?
First, I’d like to point out going to a VIP party to shop with your girlfriends is SO MUCH FUN! Even though Maxwell hung around with Auntie Alissa most of the evening I know he is looking at me in this photo [below] with a, “MOMMY, let’s pick out some toys already!” look on his face. So precious ;)

One of my favorite memories from the evening is walking through The Land of Nod with Maxwell knowing the toys I picked up were toys we’d play with together.
^ Adorable knit baby rattles | wooden toys from their Grimm’s collection
I have a huge crush on wooden toys. My grandfather handcrafted each of his grandchildren a wooden piggy bank, he even built an heirloom cradle that his grandchildren + great-grandchildren have slept in. Growing our wooden toy collection — things we’d cherish forever — that will help Zack + I to build a home of creativity for our children brings me much joy.
^ Here’s a sneak peek at one of the wooden toys Maxwell picked out ;)
^ Snoozin’ in The Land of Nod with Auntie Alissa
^ I was admiring their lamp collection when Kyle photobombed my pic, ha!
Oh for goodness sakes, are you seeing how much COLOR is inside?! So much whimsical, vibrant, dream-filled color… If you’re nearby one of their stores you must pay them a visit.
^ Some of their fun wall decor ideas [I especially love this + this]
^ Such a sweet pull along pony toy. When I first met Zack he was wearing a pair of Pony brand shoes, so now whenever I see something “Pony” I think of my man. Awwwwww ♥

So here’s the fun part… the big reveal of which Land of Nod toys we brought home. You already know I, I mean Maxwell, had my eye on the double-decker red bus…
…but we also had our eyes on this giraffe wooden puzzle, this shiny red car [does this mean he’ll want a real red car when he grows up?!] and this rainbow tower stacker.
How cute are Maxwell’s new toys?
I’ll tell you: they’re so cute he insists on hanging out with them* at all times! ;)

I LOVE these toys – they’re so bright & colorful! My 9-month old has a green car just like that red one and he LOVES it. I may need to “steal” some of these ideas for his first birthday – I am in love with that puzzle. I think I said “love” too many times in this comment ;)
@Andi T., Oh that is so great to hear! I hope Maxwell loves his toys :) PS. you can never use that word enough… ♥
You guys are adorable! I love wooden toys too!
@Jen, aww thank you!! :)
Love, love love just love.
Your little guy was one of my favorite things at the party. He is just adorable! :) The store’s baby toy selection is awesome. Sometimes it is really hard to find great toys for that age!
