It’s not so much about having too much or too little to do each day.
It’s not about cleaning up the living room once the babes have gone down for their naps
It’s not about having a multiple-page to-do list waiting for me.
It’s not about having the entire day scheduled out.
It’s not about feeling like I must be (!) in control.
It is about having the right amount to do, which changes from day to day depending on our family’s season.
It is about our home being a showcase of the precious lives it serves.
It is about having just enough to do that I feel inspired, but never too much that I feel overwhelmed.
It is about making plans and following through, and sometimes this means nothing is planned.
It is about knowing we were created by a loving God who desires for us to know, at all times, that He is in control. Recognizing this allows us to let out a slow exhale, dissolve the need for perfection, and absorb our blessings.
Day after day we must remember this perspective.
This is exactly what I needed to hear on this Monday morning! Thanks!!!
So glad! And me too :)
Hi Maggie,
I have followed your blog for a long time now and I have 3 little ones moving into big kids. I love your fresh perspective on Mama hood and everything that makes it wonderful. I took me a long time to adjust to the new pace of life when they came along, but through the journey I have been able to marvel at the simple things that may have passed me by if it weren’t for my little ones. Your kiddos are so adorable and your bog posts are so refreshing! Thanks for sharing what is going on in your world from your perspective, it’s great knowing there are other mommas out there who share the same thoughts :)
Hi Lisa! I loved reading your comment. And I love how much sweetness children bring to the world. THEIR perspective is amazing, I cherish learning from my littles so much :)
I totally agree! It’s hard to remember sometimes.
Thanks for sharing!

I love your comment about the home being a showcase for the precious lives it serves. That’s such a great way to think about it. If it has small children living in it, it probably should be covered in toys and fingerprints… love that. :)
Beautifully said! I needed that.
