Good morning, I have had a wonderful week. One thing I am happy about this week is…
I am teaching 3 adults swimming lessons and it looks like they all will swim this week. So thankful, it is extremely hard to learn to swim as an adult.
Blessings to everyone,
Lori
I am excited to share something positive about my life!:) I am a 45 year old wife and mother who has reached that great point in life when you really feel comfortable in your own skin. When I was younger just the thought of being “forty something” sent me under the covers in fear but now I embrace it. I have come to realize no matter what age we are we can still learn, grow, laugh and love. This year I became a Grandmother for the first time and the joy that has brought me is amazing! Recently I have decided (with help from 3 of my daughters) to start an at home business and hope to have it off the ground soon. Its so exciting to see something I am passionate about come to fruition!! Anyway, they say 40 is the new 30. I disagree…30 was never this good!:)
My positive for this week is that I am completing my last assignment for my graduate degree! It has been a long year and a half in grad school and I am so happy to now settle into my new work and being mom to my three wonderful boys – with no more papers! (Well, at least for a while until the next degree catches my eye : )).
wow, what a bunch of great giveaway items :) I’m also so excited to see my graphic header on my blog, designed by the talented Kristen of “Ahoy Graphics” in her ad!!! LOVE IT :)
It’s been a tough week, with lots of doctor’s appointments for my little one… but God brought me through it… and a big pot of coffee surely helped :) God is good… and even in my hard times I feel His strength to get me through a difficult week! :)
My top three positive things: I’ve done something fun with the kids every day for the whole week, I’ve lost 12 pounds this month, and I’m going to BlogHer next week and could not be MORE EXCITED. Winning one of these amazing giveaways would be like the icing on the delicious happy cake!
Wow! Such amazing items, with generous hearts of these ladies.
This Saturday afternoon I get to have my hubby all to myself! We are going to play golf; something we did often before our two little ones. I am very much looking forward to it – YaY! for date days!
And YaY for Gussy Sews giveaways ;0)
My favorite nightlife event is having my baby fall asleep on my chest as I rock her sleep in a room full of family and friends. The warmth and comfort of my new life being surrounded by my old life.
I love spending the summer with my daughter( I am a teacher– so I try to cherish every day home with her!)
We wake up and cuddle before starting our day, it is my favorite part of the day, something I look forward to every morning :-) I love looking at your site and keeping up with your daily adventures, thanks for this amazing opportunity to win some incredible items!!!!
Are you serious?!? This giveaway is A.MA.Z.ING Gussy!!
This week one of life’s greatest gifts took place, a new life entered this world! I am very close to my cousin so the birth of her child is like getting a new niece to me and she is healthy and beautiful and so, so cuddly! You can’t help but smile the entire time around a newborn baby!
I have had a wonderful week! I am a stay-at-home Mom so I get to spend everyday with my fabulous 2 year old but this week my grandma was in town to celebrate her 84th birthday. It is so great to see my little one have so much fun with her great-grandma.
My positive thing this week is spending the day with my mother in law at the beach yesterday after our family has suffered a tragic loss.
I am always in awe of how good God is.
I love your blog and how you are trying to make everything positive and inspirational! Your fab!
My good thing is:
I planned a surprise party for My Paddy’s birthday on Monday and EVERYONE showed up, he was SUPER surprised and the party was a success!!! (Ever since moving cross country my party throwing skills have tanked and I can’t seem to get anyone to come to our theme parties! LOL)
We had a blast and it was great!!! That was the best part of my week. heehee
Thanks for the giveaway!
Cheers,
Messy
Our family is growing and our lives are so full! We are embarking on the great home school adventure this fall as Noah starts Kindergarten. I am POSITIVE God is on the move in our lives. So blessed.
Seeing my oldest daughter take the time to teach her younger sister to sew. They both have so much patience and the littlest didn’t give up!
Great Giveaway Gussy~ I had a good week! I am working on being more patient, which is one of my struggles, AND my Etsy shop had the biggest sales week EVER! I am so happy & feel so blessed!! xoxo Jessica
After an exhausting couple of weeks preparing for & running Bible School….11 kids gave their hearts to Jesus! That’s my positive for the month!
We’re going through a ton of uncertainty right now but my positive for the week is that my husband and I are going through it all together and no matter what our cat and dog think we’re awesome.
As always your sponsors are amazing. Oh that Jo Tote is calling my name!
Today is my husband’s 50th birthday! We met when we were 16 and 14. I’m all about celebrating him today. My birthday was Monday so it’s a beautiful week at our house.
Something positive in my life, God has blessed us with a little baby boy who is due in November. I will be six months Monday and we are so excited to be first time parents!
Great giveaway!
I am happy that my husband has a job this week. He’s in construction/remodeling and that industry has taken a hit here recently. It’s been especially nice that he has had income because we had several unexpected expenses this month – vet bills, cars breaking down, A/C going out, and that income has been utilized.
Whew… this has been a long hard week… but… today is the last day at my current job. I’ve been here for 6 years and my life looks so incredibly different than when I started. Next Thursday I attend my first training for my new job as a teacher, the work that I’ve wanted to do since I was 8 years old. It is a little bit scary but completely thrilling.
wowzers! what a great list of goodies!
I am a mom, so there are moments in my week that I think, I can not pick that up again one more time with out going mad! BUT, then I think about how lucky I am to be a mom, to be home with the very healthy kids, to have a home to clean. I felt very grateful this week had no immediate responsibilities. Nothing on the schedule. If the kids wanted to go to the water park I took them. The pool? no problem. We took it easy and did what we wanted. It was the best week we’ve had all summer. ;)
One great thing about my week: I found out my 3-year-old is going to have a sibling :) So excited!!
I love being surprised with little blessings throughout the week! This week I was blessed to make my last car payment, have a five-day weekend to travel home to see my family and to hear the excitement in a friends’ voice when he got great news from his doctor. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Something positive: my husband and I are going on vacation to Boulder, CO next week…just us no kiddos :)
It’s going to be VERY positive! LOL
Sarah M
I’m going to see Pinkalicious the musical today…. With 3 other adults. No kids. Kind of hilarious but also very POSITIVE. I’m excited!
Ooooh I’d love any of these but my blog could use a serious makeover. My exciting bit is that I finally swallowed my fears & signed up to do my first craft show in 4 weeks! Eeeeek! I’ve always been to scared to do one b/c I wouldn’t know what to expect but I’m excited that I finally did it. SOme new stationary, business cards or blog redesign would be perfect for this time in my tiny shop :-)
My positive this week is spending the entire weekend scrapbooking with my awesome amazing mother in law. I just love her – and getting time to scrap is just wonderful!!
Fist this is a GREAT giveaway!!!
This week I got to go on vacation on the gulf coast of Florida and it has been wonderful!!! It is so much frun to just be with friends and family and have no obligation to do ANYTHING :)
there are so many things that are positive about my week…my husband started a new job (that he is super excited about), we are spending time with family this weekend, and I get to see my best friend today! blessed!! what a great giveaway!!!
I am loving this fabulous giveaway! Something positive? Well, I teach first grade and with school about to start…I can’t wait to meet me new class! I have been busy trying to make my classroom fun and cheerful so that my new group will feel inspired to learn!
positive: meeting Godly women who inspire me. also positive? this post :)
This summer a dear friend and I started a book club – one of our long-held dreams. We’re meeting today – over Lunch! – to finalize the plans for Sunday’s meeting. I’m excited, not only because we’ve chosen great books, but because we’ve chosen women from a variety of ethnic, age, professional and personal backgrounds. The discussions should be interesting!
My husband is US Marine, and at times its hard that he isn’t here very often, and I am alone in Hawaii by myself and thousands of miles away from my family. But in the last 3 months, since he left for our first deployment, I decided that I wanted to make a difference in the military community. In three months I have started a t-shirt company with my friend for my husbands battalion, started an online community for his base where small businesses like myself and others can showcase their small businesses, got involved in planning events for my husbands battery within his battalion, as well as trying to get my own business, where I sell stylish customizable frames and countdown blocks to be as profitable as Gussy Sews. Everyday I am inspired by people who make a difference and don’t even bat an eye. Just knowing that I am making a difference even if its small makes me feel positive when I know my husband is out in a dangerous place fighting for our freedoms! :)
This has been such an incredible week for me. After two months of searching, I was offered a job at a really positive and encouraging company. I am really looking forward to working with them.
today is my diet cheat day! that makes today WONDERFUL.
xo taryn
Oh so many positive things I could share…yesterday I went to the pool, which was so nice on such a hot day! And I get to see my fiance tonight, which always makes me super happy. ;)
After over a month of crazy non-stop busyness we finally have a quiet weekend to look forward to. I’ve never been so happy to have NO plans!
There are so many positive things to share, because even when I want to complain, I look around and realize that even at our worst, we are blessed compared to most other countries. We have freedom to live our lives and make our own choices, good or bad. My children are relatively healthy, we may not have a large house but we have a warm, dry, safe home, our cars are older and used but they are ours and are paid off, my husband has a good job (which in Michigan is a difficult thing to come by). In the grand scheme, we have nothing to complain about. period.
My positive thing for the last couple weeks has been that my husband and I started saving for adoption!! So excited. Maybe I will start a blog about our journey if I win!? ;) Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
Lovely features, Gus!
The boys and I spent the early morning sitting on the high front steps of our new home, munching watermelon for breakfast and watching with wonder as the grass became a stormy ocean. We were much relieved to be sitting in safety on the back of a pirate ship, but what would happen when the pirates discovered we were using their vessel for a life boat? We were scared. Very frightened. We were forced to look over our shoulders, certain they’d discover their unwanted guests and make us each walk the plank. It was quite an eventful morning.
:)
What amazing and lovely giveaways! This week starts the fair, which is one of our family’s favorite times of the year! And, this week ended most of our commitments for the summer, so starting today – my girls and I are back to no plans and just care free summer time! Ahh…we needed the breather!! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
We have begun the journey of adoption, and it has taught/is teaching us all so much. To see my children grow a love for the orphan, it just makes my heart melt!
My husband took a new job that he’s really excited about. =)
Something good about this week….I didn’t get sick! This is a big deal because EVERY other member of my house has been sick this week. And not a fun sick (not that ever being sick is fun) but when no one is keeping food in/down, it is so gross. I’ve done a lot of laundry and our house is now really clean (Also a good thing!). Hopefully everybody else stays well and I still don’t get it.
Wow, what an awesome giveaway! Thanks so much!
This past week has been super positive! I got to spend an afternoon with my older sister, found out I don’t have any more kidney stones (yay!), went tubing with my amazing youth group, and my birthday is next week! So many reasons to be happy and I’m so thankful for that!
This weekend we are celebrating my only boy’s fourth birthday! He has brought so much laughter into our household and I LOVE the contrast he adds to our three girls! I need me some boy non-drama! Roman is the coolest little man EVER!
Good morning! Oh so many things to write about. My life has been hard this week {can we say teething toddler? ;)} but there are SO many things to be joyful and thankful for! :) I was getting a bit bummed yesterday with the cranky toddler stuff — mommy was starting to feel drained — and so I went to my Bible and journal yesterday. I read and wrote and read and wrote. I found encouragement in what I read and a release in writing. I was able to side-step a major funk I could have fallen into and went on a sewing spree! :) I managed to sew three pieces for my shop yesterday, put the finishing touches on several other items, create an Etsy banner, and even read a few blogs along the way {Inspiration Workshop! yeah!}. I am so grateful for the Lord who continues to encourage and lift me up in those blue moments. Yay for this giveaway, but also yay for remembering the positive this week! :)
xoxo – erin
My life season is so incredibly blessed – I’ve got an incredible hubsters who loves me no.matter.what. and a sweet 4 month old who loves to smile and “talk” with his mama! I’m rediscovering my love of weaving melody and lyrics together as my drummer-hubs and I work on writing/recording together again! I’ve started blogging and have met an incredible community of like-minded women who share This Journey Road with me and I’ll be attending Relevant ’11 later this fall to give them some {hugs} IRL! Seriously, I can’t thank Him enough for these blessings He has showered on my life and heart. Maybe I’ll ask Him for one more – one of these oh-so-yummy giveaway packages! I’d LURVE to have any of those!
Thanks to sweet Gussy and her sponsors for putting this together – one of my highlights of each day is seeing what’s cooking up over here at GussySews! Much love and blessings to ya’ll!
Oh how I love ALL of these pretty things… and I’m so happy to share something positive about my life. I must admit I have a pretty amazing life, at least in my opinion. I serve an amazing God, and have the best family and friends a girl could ask for. Next week, I am turning the page to the next chapter in my life and making a move to a brand new city for me to start grad school! It’s an exciting thing.
Wow, what a great giveaway!
My positive is that After this week, I only have two weeks left at my full time day job, and then I am quitting to focus on my own business!! So excited to actually start doing what I want to do with my life, instead of spending 40 hours each week at a job that I don’t like!
I have had a pretty good week. We were surprised at the doctor with no copay this week for a well check! It was super nice since our budget is pretty tight around here these days. I have also accomplished a lot to add to my new little shop! It’s been a very productive and successful week!
My husband was working in Afghanistan, at the time, when I found out that was pregnant last year. He was only able to come home for a couple of weeks before she was due in December. Every time, he had to go back things was always hard for us, because we weren’t use to being away from each other. My husband did miss the birth of our child, Abigail and was able to make it home ten days later. We only got to communicate through a webcam. We got to spend ten days with him and then he was back on a flight back to Afghanistan. He was a contractor and we loved the money. But, when he saw his daughter for the first time, he said that he has to figure out a way out of the contract. In March, when his first year of contract was ready to be renewed, he didn’t sign. He came home and surprised us. Neither one of us, had no job, but we had each other. Then, this guy that he worked with in Afghanistan was coming home to start a district manager job in North Carolina. He wanted Anthony to be part of the process. We moved all of our stuff in a 12 hour car drive to get to where we are today. The greatest part is that he is able to come home everyday to us.
Oh man, this would be the one I need. My blog needs a face lift.
Something positive, where do I start? This week I asked my 2 year old when she woke up if she wanted to eat and she said “No, wait deat.” Ahhhhhh it was one of her first real sentences!!!!
What great prizes! It’s Friday so how can that not be positive?! I’ve got a nice relaxing weekend of spending time with my husband, with a friend at the pool & BlogHer packing to look forward to!
Oh my goodness, what an amazing group of giveaways! Right now I am totally inspired by trying to dress up the everyday moments and make everything a little more beautiful!
Throwing my name into the pot!
Something positive and wonderful around here is waking up to sunny days EVERY single day. Oh gosh, I love summer in the rockies.
I’m a preschool teacher, so a positive from my life is a little boy in my class, Isaac, who (practically every day) tells me, “I really love you, Michelle” in the most sincere voice ever! It melts my heart every time!
So far I’ve had a pretty amazing week! Tuesday was our 8th anniversary (YAY!!!) and hubby and I got to go out without the kids (doesn’t happen very often). Dinner, and then looking at some real estate! It ended up being our dream house, and now we’re crunching numbers to see if we can do it! SO EXCITING!!
What a lovely selection of items! Something positive-we are heading out tomorrow for two weeks vacation, even though there is lots of preparation, with a 5 year old daughter who wants to help, we are so excited!! The weather looks fantastic too!
positive comment: so excited to spend time with my husband and family this weekend. it’s birthday dinner for his brother! i love that we make celebrations out of everything. :)
My positive thing for this week/weekend is that my husband is working (hard) on a job that is giving us real paychecks again! :) YAY!
This week my family got to celebrate the 13th anniversary of my brother being diagnosed with cancer. Many of you would think that that is not a positive thing, but it is because the doctors told my parents he was going to die but God healed him and so now we celebrate God’s faithfulness on the anniversarry of his diagnoses.
What a great bunch of giveaways! My positive comment is more of a praise: A family member who has spent the last two weeks in the hospital got to come home yesterday!!! Praise the Lord!
So many positives from this week! It’s hard to narrow it down. : ) But how about this – my sis-in-law got married on Sunday and we got to spend a week with the whole family and celebrate the love of a couple so dear to us.
Oh my gosh, what a fabulous, generous giveaway!!!! I needed the inspiration to find something good today because I am having to make hard parenting choices with my 18 year old son today and that makes me sad. BUT, I am very happy because my daughter is coming home from her mission trip today and I missed her so much! We are going to visit my mother in law this evening and I am happy about that, she has cancer and we had to cancel our last visit because she was having a bad day, so I am excited to see her today. Your blog and your creative vibe and energy are so inspiring Maggie, thank you so much! I have been working my own stuff and winning this package (escpecially #3) would really be the bees knees for me. You have inspired me to believe that I can make this work. Thank you so much, it means more than you know. So I am also thankful for YOU!
We’re getting ready to have a fabulous weekend tooling around St. Louis with a good friend I haven’t seen in a long while. Can’t wait!
This week has been filled with settling in to our new community as we’ve made a move to the left coast to work our dream jobs- amazing!
I have found that there are countless positive things in my life if I just step back and look. I have recently realized that I can absolutely do anything if I put my mind to it! Thats enough to keep you going for sure!
great giveaway items! a pretty wonderful week for us! we had our 23 week check-up and our baby girl is doing well – everything is looking good. and we found out yesterday that my brother and sister-in-law will be welcoming a baby boy three weeks after our little girl arrives. looking forward to two new babies late this fall is making our whole outlook quite positive these days. :)
The absolute best thIng about my life is waking up every single day to my son’s smiling face. He is my little alarm clock every morning between 6:30 and 7 and he always is smiling when I come in and sometimes he claps for me and it is just the greatest feeling ever. You can’t imagine how happy they make you each and every day. I am so extremely blessed to have this little man in my life to light it up and make each day more amazing than the next!!
Awesome giveaway Gussy! Something positive from this week? There’s only 3 more weeks until school starts for the kids I nanny for. This 3 month preggo girl in the Texas heat needs a break!
What a great give-away!
I feel like I have so many positive things in my life-it’s hard to choose! I guess my absolute favorite is being able to hang out with my husband all weekend! Weekends are highly anticipated in my house because we truly are best friends and he’s my favorite person to hang out with! Sleeping in and lounging around while sipping coffee on Saturday mornings…doesn’t get better than that!
Something Positive? Well, for one, I’m blessed with an extremely cheerful, busy little girl. She makes me laugh so much:)
I had a cupcake for breakfast this morning–it doesn’t get more positive than that! I’m also married to a wonderful man who loves and supports me more than I ever knew I needed. Thanks Gussy, and your fab sponsors!
What a GREAT giveaway!
I am so excited this week because it is my first full week of classes…. EVER! Only 15 months of clinical rotations left until I’m done with both of my Masters! Woo HOOO
I would have to say that I *love* this time of year!! When school starts back & the fall temperatures start to creep in, it’s such a fun and exciting time!
What a wonderful giveaway! I have so many great things I could say about my life right now…I am truly blessed with 3 beautiful, happy, healthy children who I get to spend 100% of my time with. We live in a beautiful city in California. And I’m excited for the weekend, because I get a date night with the hubby tonight! : )
The best part of my weekends is that I have more “focused” time with my kids and husband. I work full time from home, while raising our kids, and a lot of times I wish I could not work and just “be” with them. They understand that Mom and Dad have to work and I do try to work mostly while they sleep. On the other hand I feel blessed beyond words for a job that I can work from home. If not for this job, my little ones would have to be in daycare and so I am so grateful to have this opportunity. Weekends though = more family time, less work at the computer, happy Mama! :)
I look forward to my weekends, because it means I have uninterrupted time to spend on creating things! But mostly, I look forward to Saturdays, which is the only day of the week my hubby and I have off together! :)
I donated my hair to locks of love this week! It was a really great week :) Thanks for the great giveaway!
Great giveaways! :) Something positive…my Dad called me this morning & said that he and my Mom wanted to babysit for us tonight. My husband has been traveling a lot for work, and he said they knew we needed some alone time. Makes me so happy I could cry :)
Im happy that in 3 weeks I begin student teaching!
I had an amazing week!! I made my first big sale on some custom wallets for a girl at work and have received a few orders since! I have been on cloud9 all week! And not to mention getting completely hooked on watching Battlestar Galactica (the newer ones) on Netflix. I don’t mind admitting that I am a bit of a geek :) I embrace it! I hope you have an amazing weekend!
My kids have been kept wonderfully busy and haven’t complained about camping out while my hubby and I refinish the hardwood floors in the house.
Your sooo kind! im excited about seeing my favorite movie for the third time tonigt=)…..soul surfer! i love that one…so much inspiration in it! a church in town is inviting the whole community to watch it outside with popcorn and pop provided by them so thatl add to the fun=)
I sold my sad 11 year old car yesterday. I was a little sad to see it go, since I purchased it brand new with 41 miles on it when I was 21. But, I am glad that we were able to sell it in less than a week!
I am reminded daily of how blest I am! I may think its hot here in Oklahoma, but the men and woman who are protecting me in other countrys are fare hotter then me! I also am very excited for my weekend! I have dear friends that I get to hang with!
Love the giveaways! Keeping my fingers crossed :)
I feel like, this week, it has been hard for me to find anything positive. So, thank you for “forcing” me to do that. My husband and I started leading our church’s youth group about a year ago and I’ve really had a hard time connecting with the girls that attend each week. But, a few weeks ago, we took them on their annual summer retreat and I grew closer to the girls. So, my positive for this week would be – two of the girls have begun texting me regularly. This may seem small or even annoying to some people. But, I am just so glad that I have been given this opportunity and that they trust me enough to share what’s going on in their lives.
My week was full of time spent in my kitchen and in my craft room. What could be better then several hours of making bunting?!
It’s Friday, God is good, there are fresh flowers on my desk and hot coffee in my mug. The sun is shining and the weekend plans are festive. There is much in life to be thankful for – I’m lovin’ it!
[and … you’re hosting another fabulous giveaway – that’s positive, too :-)]
I had a nice week, and am looking forward to a great weekend with my family. I must say the most exciting thing that has happened is my sweet baby girl turned 5 months old this week. When she goes to kiss me now she holds my face and gets the mpst wonderful, wide eyed expression, then gives me a big slobbery kiss. LOL What could be better than drooly baby kisses?!?
YAY! A Gussy Giveaway!! This morning I’m thankful for my co worker showing up to work, new purchases at IKEA, and having great friends and FAMILY <3
Today I am happy that it’s Friday! I have lots of time to spend with my fiancé this weekend, yay! Thanks for the giveaway chances!
My hardworking hubby has a three day weekend! Yay! Three days of family fun. We’re also going to the fair tomorrow. Three cheers for yummy fair food.
My week has been bitter sweet. My boys have been at summer camp. I miss my babies. However my Husband and I have had 100% us, 100% of the time. It’s been a nice rejuvenation for our relationship. We were laughing at dinner last night because he said wow we’ve never been married with no kids. sure seems that way. We get to pick up our little guys tomorrow and we can’t wait. It’s going to be better than CHRISTMAS.
Hi all!
This giveaway is amazing =) Good luck to you all!
I am very excited about just being with my boyfriend. After 3.5 years of doing long distance, mixed with a few solid weeks together, we are so happy to be living in the same city!–together! It was hard to get through, but well worth it… especially because we value each other as well as our time together SO MUCH MORE now :)
Great job on inspiring others to be positive. We need more of that!
WOW! What a great giveaway! My positive thing is that we are throwing a baby shower for one of my coworkers today! SOOOO fun!
WOW!!!! Jo Tote’s and giveaway #3….WOW! I am thankful for design ideas being settled on between my hubby and I…..now to get painting :)
We’re going camping for the first time with our son and our Daisy girl :). We’ll be joining my parents and my sister and her husband … and a total of 5 dogs!! Yikes :). I’m hoping for many happy memories my son will remember for years to come. Happy Weekend to you friend!
