Busy days are really great,
especially really great busy days :] I’m only on week #2 as a self-employed gal, but I’ve already found I have to be very intentional with my time so I don’t lose my mind. Like being sure I have plans set 2-3x/week. {What? Don’t think I’m crazy. You try working where you live and living where you work.}
Yesterday was one of those “great busy days”. Here’s a little glimpse into what I did:
1. Good morning! Nothing says Rise & Shine like coffee in a special mug
2. At my desk, taking a little Gussy break. I heart my job!
3. Lunch time! This is my view… No computer, sewing, or web-browsing for me. Give me a comfy seat and something pretty to stare at. {Careful Gus, don’t fall asleep…}
4. A special shelf just outside the sewing room, which supports a special print, an enjoyed bottled of wine, and some empty spools
5. So many fun colors! I’ve found there are a handful of spools that never make it back “home” — pink, red, purple, cream, yellow and orange
6. Do I need to say anything?! {The pins are little gifts I receive from my zipper supplier. I have so many I decided to decorate with them :]
7. Time for a break + fresh air! Off on a l-o-v-e-l-y walk to the downtown Post Office, then Target, and finally back home. I heart fresh air.
8. I saw this sign on the way home from my walk: Minneapolis League of Catholic Women Inc. Something about it just makes me giggle. I wonder what The League does…? :]
PS. Look at all this damask! {swoon}
So there you have it…
what a perfectly wonderful day!!! and you know what i love most? how absolutely positive you are about everything. you make me want to go on walks, for goodness’ sake! :)
ah fun!
Looks like a great day!!! I always like to see what others are doing with their days!! Thanks for sharing:)
i must say i am very jealous of your life right now! and i LOVE your spools of thread, i need something like that to hang up on my wall, thanks for the great idea! and that damask.. all i can say is *SQUEE* i HEART damask!!!
what does my life consist of… well it’s either sitting down in front of my computer from 8am-5pm in a small cubicle or at a hospital working directly with the client (could be anywhere in the world). and then at night i either come home or back to my hotel room and blog blog blog!! =)
Dang. I sit at home every day with the babe, and barely get anything done. I think yesterday I was only able to finish 3 necklace orders and start making a shirt. That was it. ha ha
The picture of you walking downtown inspires me to get outside today! IT’S GORGEOUS! And the sign about the League of Catholic Women – I totally know where that is and thought the same thing the first time I saw it!!! I used to walk past that sign every single day when I would walk to work downtown from my dorm back in college. That’s so funny!
get out! so that means where you used to live is kinda near where i live :]
Do you know where North Central University is? I went there my first year of college. It’s a private Christian university down by Elliot and 10th. Right in the heart of the ghetto. :)
I love that mug. Such a simple verse yet powerful. I needed to be reminded:).
Do you have somewhere that you would like us to post customer feedback! I’m in love with my bag!!! I am definitely ordering more!
I love that damask! Beautiful. I am a huge fan.
I am a stay at home mom and blogger and I need to set more intentional time for things. I need to get out of the house too! Living where you work and working where you live can be a bit mundane sometimes… no coworkers to have lunch with etc. but totally worth it to be with my kiddos.
It’s great to work on what you love doing.
what a fun post! (and a fun day)! that is SWEET (but dangerous) that you can walk to Target!! i had avoided going there for several months to avoid temptation but lately i’ve found myself making multiple trips a week! it is so soothing :)
that Damask makes me “sew” happy that my heart sings because I know SOME OF IT IS COMING TO ME! ::throws confetti into the air::
Sounds like a great day!! That damask looks like it’s gonna make one pretty purse for me! YAHH! Glad that your 2nd week is going some well!
LOVE the damask! Sooooo, will tote bags be available soon in this, or should I special order? Also, I received my first Gussy item this week (a wristlet), and I love it! Can’t wait to order more.
this makes me happy! soooo happy for you, Maggie!
