Here at Gussy has a lot to say we love to look at all things beautiful. Beautiful ideas, beautifully women supporting each other, beautiful stories about starting a business.
Today marks week #12 of my series on featured artists. It is my goal to introduce some drool-worthy inspirational eye-candy. Over the next few months I’ll be showcasing hand-selected artists that offer products that I think will appeal to you, my readers :)
Please join me in welcoming Jo at Where Women Create, a company/publication that encourages and promotes the creative spaces of the most extraordinary women of our time.
Where do you call home? Are you from there originally? I call Ogden, Utah home and, yes, I am from here originally. I now live about 2 miles from where I was raised my entire life.
Name something unique to where you live. The Rocky Mountains are my backyard and the desert is what I see when I look out my living room window.
Share an interesting fact about yourself. I consider myself a small-town home-grown girl that has done the very most that is possible with what she has.
How did you come up with your site/blog name? It is the name of my best selling book and our magazine.
Share a little bit about yourself. I feel like I have lived the best and the most that I could every day of my life. I have amazing children and grandchildren; a wonderful mom and dad that had faith in me and supported me every step of the way regardless of the road that I led them down; friends that are very important to me; a few regrets; a lot of hard work; more mistakes than I had hoped for; dreams that came true, some that didn’t, and some that could be considered by some as “nightmares”; surprises;
If you had to describe yourself in a word, what would that word be? Blessed
What made you decide to start a blog? To help build a community of inspiring creative women so that we all have a place to go when we need a friend … for whatever reason.
Name your favorite thing about blogging. Sharing the lives of the inspirational women that I know … and some that I don’t know.
Do you have a day job or blog full-time? Yes, I do have a day job. For 32 years it has been as the President of Chapelle Ltd. and for the last two years the Creator and Editor-in-Chief of WHERE WOMEN CREATE. But I still think I blog full time!
List a few of your most favorite pastimes. My grandchildren, Olivia and Jackson, 5-year-old twins; shopping with my daughter, Sara; spending time with my son, Justin; and creating whatever new “idea” that I have at the moment.
Read any good books lately? Julie and Julia, The Twilight Series, and proofing every issue of the magazine!
What is your most prized possession? The Ruby ring that my father gave to my mother on their 60th wedding anniversary. The silver rattle that my daughter gave to me to tell me that she was having twins. The gold basketball charm that was given to my dad when he was captain of Utah State University’s basketball team.
What are three of your favorite foods? Chocolate cake, french fries, and a really good salad.
What would you like to learn to do? Be a great photographer and a really good cook.
What are you listening to right now? The football game with my dad.
Name one place you must visit in your lifetime and why. Greece. Why not?!
