What inspires you? Anything that offers an opportunity for a unique experience. I love trying new things and never get tired of learning. It’s a big world out there and there’s just so much to see and do!
Where do you call home? Are you from there originally? I’m originally from Maryland, but have been living in San Diego for the last 14 years. I live near the beach, and never tire of the daily walk down to the beach with my Starbucks!
Name something unique to where you live. Hmm… let’s see… it’s sunny almost year round and almost everyone uses the word “dude” :-)
Share an interesting fact about yourself. I’ve been wanting to get my private pilots license for quite some time. It’s very spendy so I keep putting it off. My New Year’s Resolution this year was to find a way to get it done! Then I’m going to join the women’s flying club, The Ninety-Nines (it was started by the first female pilots in the 1930’s, including Amelia Earhart!) {Jennifer, this is SO awesome!}
How did you come up with your shop name? I was looking for a cute and memorable name and I thought lemon + betsy fit the bill!
If you had to describe yourself in a word, what would that word be? Determined!
Name your favorite thing about selling handmade. I love the one-on-one interaction with my customers. Selling handmade items is a much more personal experience than working through a large retailer.
Do you have a day job or sell on Etsy full-time? Real day job: accounting and tax prep.
Share with us a favorite Etsy purchase or shop. I love the variety of handmade soaps that are available through Etsy. My last purchase was from BeautifulSoaps and I loved it!
What is your most prized possession? My grandparent’s wedding rings. The grandparents are gone now but I’ll cherish those rings and their symbolism forever.
What are three of your favorite foods? Lobster, Red Velvet cupcakes, and Gorden Biersch garlic fries.
What are you listening to right now? I love the Rihanna and Jay Z song, Run This Town. It makes for great workout music.
Name one place you must visit in your lifetime and why. I just returned from a 6-week trip to Europe and it was amazing! I have a friend who is living over there so it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I toured Italy, Germany and Austria, but missed out on Ireland and Scotland. So those are the two places I simply must get to one day!
