For a little bit now I’ve been gathering a few of my favorite sewing notions in anticipation of creating a giveaway bundle. I know what you’re thinking — yes, sewing notions really are that exciting to me :) Over the summer T-fal contacted me about one of their products, the Ultraglide iron. It arrived at our apartment at a perfect time as my current iron needing to be replaced. Don’t laugh at me when I tell you this: I really do enjoy ironing. It’s one of those repetitive, relaxing tasks and the fact that I can see the wrinkles in the fabric disappear before my eyes? Well, let’s just say it settles my need for instantaneous results.
I’ve gathered seven of my favorite notions for a giveaway, and since nearly my entire home state (hello, Michigan) is currently experiencing dreadful negative degree windchills I thought it would be fun to host a giveaway? I mean, what else is there to do besides sew and craft when you’re stuck inside from too much snow? ;)
Let’s talk some more about this iron. I’ve been using it for a few months now and it’s already surpassed all of my ironing daydreams — including being able to use tap water for steaming and it’s super smooth ceramic soleplate. It’s also nonstick! Who knew I could go on & on about an iron like this? But really, it’s a great iron. Even Target knows it and carries it.
Also included in the giveaway: 1.) one ironing board cover c/o Sew Caroline (fits a standard board), 2.) three yards of strawberry pink ball fringe, 3.) three spools of Dual Duty Coats & Clark cotton thread c/o Coats & Clark, 4.) two yards of 100% cotton fabric (1 yard of each design), 5.) six buttons (2 of each design shown), 6.) twenty YKK zippers (various sizes of vanilla, pink & strawberry colors) and lastly a T-fal Ultraglide iron c/o T-fal (not shown in above photo).
Caroline of Sew Caroline made me a custom ironing board cover in a fun pink/red pattern. I seriously love it! My ironing board is extra wide (I told you I love to iron) but that didn’t stop her — this girl can sew! Caroline also has sewing tutorials on her blog, you must pay her a visit and look at all the beautiful clothes she’s sewn for herself. Go on ;) click over!
To enter this giveaway simply leave a comment sharing a handmade project you’re dying to create and why it’s important to you. For an additional entry like/share this blog post through Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter (use the social sharing links below). This giveaway is open to US residents only and will end on Thursday, January 9th at midnight. Good luck! xoxo
PS. Special thanks to T-fal for providing the iron, Coats & Clark for providing the cotton thread, and Sew Caroline for providing the ironing board cover.
I’ve been itching to sew again since having my sweet girl last month. I really need to make the curtains in her room so we can nurse in the lovely chair her great grandma bought us, instead of always on the sofa or on my bed. After that, I need to sew a boppy cover with the pretty Leah Duncan fabric I bought for it!!
I am excited to one day make something for a child to pass down through generations. We have recently lost 2 babies to miscarriage & I am finally ready to try it again. I know that it will mean everything to me to make something from my heart for that anticipated little one.
I want to make a blanket for my baby girl who is due 3/2
Too funny bc I have fabric and my padding sitting in my living room to make an ironing board cover!!! I’m another one of those fools who finds ironing relaxing! So I really want to get that ironing board cover made, my cover is so ratty!
I have fabric and FOE for twirly skirts for my 3 little girls. I really want to see the having fun with the twirls, and I would love to see my 7 year old enjoy hers enough to wear to ballet class. Fun!
I Would like to see some pillows for my couch and finish a blanket to snuggle under in these freezing temps
I started sewing with my tween daughter (who will be a teen this weekend) last year as a way for us to spend time together talking and sharing. We have enjoyed making aprons and tote bags and have zipper pouches and baskets on our list this year. I love that she is learning this skill (she is quite good) and it gives us quiet time together. She is also learning to iron now. This give away would be the perfect gift for us to help us with our sewing goals for this year! And her bday is Saturday – so perfect!! Thanks Maggie! And I adore Caroline too! Susan
I have several patterns for my totlets that I am dying to make. My 2 year old asked me to make her next time I make something. So an adorable dress from The Cottage Mama patterns is in her near future.
I would make a large bag to carry around some stuff for my baby arriving in April!
I am super excited to make a diaper clutch for my bambino arriving in June!
I would love to make a small pillow or diaper pouch for my daughter who will arrive in June. It would be my first attempt at sewing which would make it all the more special if it turns out cute. : )
I am excited to work on my daughters quilt this year!! I want her to have something from me that she can always keep. Plus, she really needs a quilt for her big girl bed! :)
There are so many. Curtains for playroom/sewing room. Pillows. Kids summer clothes….
I’m dying to make a dress and handbag, but get overwhelmed by patterns. I really need to just do it!
I liked the post. ;)
I have really been waiting to make both of our children (almost 3 and 7) new blankets for their beds. I would love to make them quilts using some of their old baby items. Should be a very fun project!
Both my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are big quilters and now I have the quilting bug….but totally need to find some time to learn! Great giveaway!
I would love to make a quilt, that I can pass down through generations
I grew up with handmade clothes made lovingly by my mom. She is boundlessly talented! A couple of decades later, my mom is battling a terminal disease and we are focusing on quality time. For me, that means sitting with my mom, exploring through a cabinet of fabric scraps from all the wonderful pieces she made me, and turning these into a mama-baby quilt (maybe a pillow too – can imagine thar ball fringe in it!). Like many treasured aspects of my mom, a handmade shared project will keep a part of her with me always.
I am excited to make a patchwork quilt out of vintage sheets that will showcase my growing family. I make a similar quilt two years ago with the embroidered handprints of myself, my husband and my one year old son. Now that I have given birth to a little girl I am looking forward to making another quilt, but with her handprint as well :)
I have been excited to sew a type of product that fits under my serger to absorb sound, and protect my table, plus a pouch to catch all the lil bits of fabric and thread!
I’m just getting into quilting, so I’ve wanted to start with something small, like a doll blanket or something. I have all kinds of sewing ideas in my head, just no time to do them!!
I am excited to make some baby projects on my list…boppy cover, vinyl decals for his nursery nook. And a bigger sized “Snow White” dress for my daughter, who had outgrown the old one I made her. :)
With three boys of my own sewing for my best friends baby girl is such a treat! I’d love to make her some sweet dresses for spring and summer.

Thanks!!
I have been sewing for my girls and the time has come to sew myself a skirt. I have everything. Just need to start. Maybe in these frigid temps MN is having… Thanks for the giveaway.
There’s a dress that I started ages ago, and then got intimidated and ran away. I’d love to actually finish it, for the satisfaction of (1) having an actual dress rather than a pile of partially sewn fabric and (2) knowing that I got over my fears.
I would really like to try a zipper!! I am just learning to sew, but haven’t tried that yet! :) Thanks for the giveaway and for all your business motivation!
My 8 year old daughter had been asking me to teacher her to sew. We ran out of time during the holidays to sew a Christmas stocking like she had wanted. I think we are going to start out with a simple pillow.
I’m looking forward to make my son curtains for his room.

I recently sewed my first ever quilt! And now, I’d love to sew a bean bag chair to coordinate with it for my boys new big boy room.
I’m super excited to make my living room curtains. We have 18 foot ceilings and it’s not going to be an easy task. I’m making them out of burlap and coffee bags to give a rustic look in our living room. I also started adding burlap into my purses that I make. I’ve ha a great response and plan to revamp a few of my designs! Happy New Year from chilly Michigan!
I am excited to make a new table cloth and hope to make a blanket as well. Thanks for the giveaway.
I love fabrics! I am excited to make some lap quilts for Mother’s Day and would be so excited to receive this giveaway. Mother’s Day is a great time for spreading some “warmth” to your Mom or those that have been like a Mom to you. I am fortunate to have an opportunity to sell my handmade items in a local Floral/Gift shop.
Thank you!
Kim

I have a whole list of knitting projects to work on! Currently I’m trying to finish a baby blanket and a tie. Someday I want to get to sewing my own crib sheets too.
I LOVE to sew… for me, it’s cheap therapy :) I got my first dress form for Christmas, and I love to upcycle old clothes into something new. So now I have the chance to really make it fit *me* and I’m super excited to try it out!
I really need to finish the ruffled curtains for my girls bedroom. It’s turning out to be a much bigger project than I anticipated, but I’m still having fun with it.
I’ve been wanting to make a BIG T-shirt shirt quilt for my husband for oh…five or six years now. It feels daunting so I gather shirts and never actually get started. Maybe 2014 is the year?!
Thank you for such a lovely and generous giveaway!
Enjoying our 19th day of Christmas break here in Grand Rapids MI due to COLD and SNOW! After the very busy Christmas season sewing for my ETSY customers, I’m dying to get started on 2 Korean Hangal alphabet quilts – one for the daughter we are adopting and one to gift to her foster family. Praying that 2014 will be the year we’ll bring her home.
I just had my rainbow baby and would love to win this pack to make something to honor his sister in heaven. I also have a cross stitch (not sewing, I know) that has the verse we used for her waiting to be finished

We’ve been using a baby blanket my grandma made me as a tree skirt. So, my next project is to sew a tree skirt!
I think some new throw pillows are in order for my couch. I’ve lived with the standard ones that came with it for too long!
I will admit I am really wanting to make me a Nancy Drew blanket. I have me a Berenstain Bears one and I love it so to have one of my all time favorite book series too would be awesome. :) Now to find time and money to get it all together. :)

I just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. There is so much I want to make her, headbands, bibs, blankets, dresses, everything girly. She has three older brothers so we could use some girly stuff around here.
My sons have requested gnome costumes so I need to get working on those! : )
I’d love to make some handkerchief bibs for my son to wear while he’s teething.
Liked and shared on FB (Odi Ki).

I have been wanting to make decorative pillow covers!
I am itching to get busy on several projects for baby girl #2 who is on her way. Currently working on a flannel dress and trying to pick a pattern for a baby blanket.
I’m running the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February, and I need to start creating my costume, which will require a handful of sewing endeavors! I want to be magical and princess-y, but also need to be able to run. Instead of dressing like a typical cartoon princess, it’s important to me that I represent “who I am,” so I’ll be putting together a princess costume to represent my hometown – Chicago!
My iron has some melted brown stuff on it that I’ve never been able to remove completely, and sometimes it transfers onto my projects. I’m in dire need of a new one and would be so, so thrilled to win this giveaway!

Where do I start?! I have so many projects waiting in my craft cupboard! I think the one that is most exciting are the superhero caps & masks I’m going to make for my 4 littles. I’ve had the fabric for just over 1 year now. And last January/February I started on one of them – cut it out, but that’s where it’s been left. I know they would love them & spend many amazing hours pretending. Though, I also have some more pressing projects – burp cloths & cloth wipes for a friend. Too many projects, too little time!
NEED to sew a (super simple) stop sign throw pillow! My 3 year old got a new “big boy bed” and picked out his own bedding – construction themed (not surprised!) and the pic online of the whole set / line had a stop sign pillow…. but that wasn’t included in his bed-in-a-bag….. so I definitely need to sew him one! :)
Thanks for the opportunity to win – my iron is in DESPERATE need of replacement!
